Andy Santillo Appointed to the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Advisory Board by Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry

Winebrake & Santillo is excited to announce that Attorney Andy Santillo has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Advisory Board by Secretary Nancy Walker. The Advisory Board is created by the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act (“PMWA”) of 1968, 43 Pa. Stat. § 333.106.  The general purpose of the Advisory Board is to advise on the minimum wage and overtime rate for employees in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Advisory Board also consults with the Secretary concerning any matter arising under the administration of the PMWA and advises and assists in enforcing the Act.  The Advisory Board is responsible for submitting an annual report to the Pennsylvania General Assembly by March 1 of each year, detailing, to the maximum extent possible, data on the previous calendar year’s demographics of workers who are paid at the minimum wage or below. The Board also conducts public hearings to develop rules and regulations in accordance with the PMWA.
