This class and collective lawsuit seeks unpaid overtime wages for Blackout Investigations employees who were not paid full overtime premium pay. Today, our firm, along with co-counsel Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, P.A., filed a class and collective action lawsuit against Blackout Investigations & Security Services Inc. in the United States District Court for Maryland. The lawsuit seeks to recover overtime overtime wages. A copy of the Complaint is available below.

Today, the Defendant filed an Answer to the Complaint. In the Answer, Defendant denies violating the law and asserts that its pay practices are legal. You can access the Answer below
FEB 13, 2020
Today we participated in a scheduling conference with the Judge overseeing this lawsuit. It is anticipated that he will issue a scheduling order in the coming weeks.
MAY 12, 2020
Today we filed a stipulation to conditional certification of the proposed FLSA collective action in this case. NOV 10, 2020
Today, the federal Judge overseeing the lawsuit issued an order conditionally certifying a collective in this case under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Notice of this lawsuit will now be sent to potentially covered workers in the coming weeks. The deadline to join the case under the FLSA will be January 19, 2021.
